Requirements: National Diploma in Purchase Management/Supply Chain Management or equivalent • Advanced computer literacy • 4 years’ experience in a procurement environment is essential • Strong organisational ability • Knowledge of the MFMA Act 56 of 2003 / Supply Chain Management within Local Government.
Key Performance Areas: Ensure publication of procurement notices on newspapers and notice boards • Manage tender box and Update tender/contract register on weekly basis • Record tenders rejected because they were received late and send them back to the bidder • Follow up on all appointments through the Supply Chain Management Procedures • Advise Chief Finance Officer of all contracts that are about to expire • Develop and maintain the procurement plan • Assist with evaluation of Tenders • Assist with any procurement issues delegate by Manager Finance and Administration • Operate within a legislative framework • Ability to communicate at all levels of operations

SENIOR PLANS EXAMINER
The KwaDukuza Municipality seeks to fill the following positions and accordingly invites applications from persons
who meet the requirements as indicated. Please note that the post title and post identification number (KDM.)

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & PLANNING DIRECTORATE
KDMME 0019: SENIOR PLANS EXAMINER (TASK GRADE 10: R150 356.64 – R195
162.24 p.a.) Locomotion allowance & Cell-phone allowance in terms of Council’s policy.
Requirements:
Minimum of a National Diploma in Architecture or one of the Building Construction disciplines;
NQF level 5 Trade Tested Artisan in civil/ construction industry may be advantageous, Code EB/B
driving license; 3-4 years of relevant industry experience; Experience must demonstrate Knowledge
of the relevant legislation including The National Building and Standards Act, Act 103 of 1977, The
National Building Regulations and SANS 10400, ability to communicate effectively both in oral and
written form; experience in working for Local Government may be advantageous.
Duties: Co-ordinates sequences associated with monitoring compliance with standards,
procedures, regulations and specifications encompassed in National Building Regulations and
SANS 10400 with regards to the submission of building plans for approval and construction of
buildings, preparing and presenting investigations and qualitative reports, processing/ approving
specific transactional works documentation and issuing compliance notices to align practices.
Checks and verifies design details and construction specifications detailed on building plan
conforms with regulations prior to approval. Assist in co-ordinating and controlling tasks/
activities associated with controlling personnel performance, productivity and discipline.
Develop the technical know-how and understanding of emerging contractors on specific
applications, procedures and sequences applicable to building contracting and maintenance work.
